The leadership of Al-Dhale' University visited today the Central Exhibition of Martyrs and the Martyrs' Garden as part of the activities of the annual Martyr's Day 1446 AH.

University President Professor Ali Al-Tariq visited the Central Martyrs' Exhibition in the governorate, as well as the Martyrs' Cemetery in Al-Ahram, Damt, as part of the annual Martyrs' Day commemorations for the year 1446 AH.

During the visit, Dr. Ali Al-Tariq emphasized that the Martyrs' Day commemoration is a great occasion to recognize the immense sacrifices made by the martyrs in upholding the word of God and defending the homeland and its sovereignty. He pointed out that the nation's glory and advancement will only be achieved through offering the most precious and enduring sacrifices.

He was accompanied during the visit by Professor Mu'in Al-Bakhiti, the University Secretary-General, University Security Officer Muhammad Al-Hajjaji, and a number of administrative and academic staff members.

Tuesday, 16 Jumada al-Ula 1446 AH, corresponding to November 18, 2024

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Ali Saeed Al-Tariq, Al-Dhali' University held an event to commemorate the annual Martyr's Day for the year 1446 AH and to launch university activities for the academic year 1446 AH.

In his address, the University President, Dr. Ali Al-Tariq, welcomed all attendees, beginning by describing this momentous occasion: "Martyr's Day is a symbol of the strength of our people and the courage of our men. Commemorating Martyr's Day is our duty to honor their souls and to achieve the security and peace we enjoy today, and to acknowledge the sacrifices of the martyrs."

He added that this memory will remain eternally cherished, for they forsook the pleasures of this world to attain the highest Paradise, as God Almighty promised them. They were men who were true to their covenant with God, and God fulfilled His promise to them.

In his address at the ceremony, Dr. Mohammed Al-Dheeb, Acting Vice President for Student Affairs, spoke about the sacrifices of the martyrs for this precious homeland, noting that on this day we remember our martyrs who gave their lives for our freedom and dignity, and that their memory remains eternally in our hearts.

He added that the university is ready to launch its academic activities for the 1446 AH academic year in various cultural and athletic fields.

In his address, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Hamzi, Director General of the Provincial Police, spoke about the importance of martyrdom in building the glory and dignity of nations. He said that those who offer their blood as a sacrifice terrify the enemies, even after their souls have departed to the hereafter, because they deliver a clear message to their enemies: that martyrs will follow martyrs, and that goodness will endure as long as souls refuse humiliation and seek their honor, sacrificing the blood of their noble sons.

The ceremony also included poetry and folk performances in celebration of this great day.

The ceremony was attended by the university's vice presidents, deans of faculties, and the university's secretary-general.

Also present were Sheikh Sadiq al-Idrisi, the deputy governor; Brigadier General Hussein al-Hamzi, the provincial police chief; Sheikh Abdulrahman al-Wajih; Abdulwase Abu Lahoum, the provincial director of military intelligence; Ahmed al-Hadi, the director of military intelligence for the district; and a number of directors of executive offices in the province, as well as academic and administrative staff and university students.
